US-NH Ma21 Y11 A29 LM4704 31 July, 2023. This manuscript is a small booklet containing many varieties of keyboard and organ music. It is dated 2 January, 1745 by Johann Ernst Heinrich Keinen. It begins with the Inventions and Sinfonias by J. S. Bach, then contains several keyboard suites, and then chorale-based works for the organ. Some of the chorale works have the pedal called for, and some are written on three staves. Unfortunately, page numbers are not penciled into the manuscript. However, on RISM[1], the folio numbers are given. According to this resource, the manuscript has 107 folios of music. As can be seen from inspecting the spine, some pages have been cut out of this manuscript. Some pieces of note are a chromatic bicinium on Ach Herr mich armen Sünder [=O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden] and two pieces by a certain "J. F. K.", the first of which is a contrapunctus all'octava (referring to the voices moving by the octave in the first evolutio) and two evolutia, and the second being a choral setting of "Mach's mit mir Gott nach" with a canon (The second voice of the canon is not written. Perhaps, it is in the Cantus Firmus in Pedal, in the Octave?) and diminutions in the cantus voice. The second of these pieces is fragmented, only the first page survives (the "verso" side is a "Sonata di Bach" with no music written) and the second page can not be found elsewhere in the manuscript.
